SUNSET CHRONICLES is a serial drama set on the eastern edge of Sunset Boulevard, with a cast consisting entirely of handmade marionettes. In each episode a band of hardy souls navigates an otherworldly Los Angeles, an uncanny cityscape of abandoned buildings, forgotten histories and real and surreal possibilities. Any resemblance between the puppets and actual Los Angeles residents is purely intentional. All episodes are self-contained – tune in today!

The Little Fakers is a collective of puppet theater artists, sound artists, musicians and writers working in the LA area. For the past three years we have performed our ongoing marionette serial at venues across the city including Beta Level, Il Coral, and the Velaslavasay Panorama, and in Joshua Tree at Noah Purifoy's Sculpture Environment.

We Had Our First Rehearsal Last Night!

We finished the meeting half an hour early! We discussed everything under the sun, concerns comments communication. We also ate sweet things like dates and cookies, and hummus with yummy sesame seed bread stuff. As you've probably seen from the home page, the dates are set for our shows, we move to the Panorama this upcoming weekend, they've let us in early for
rehearsing in the space... we're pretty lucky, we are!

Ah, the Joy of Marionettes!

In case any of you were wondering if it really IS that fun being a puppeteer, this photo is evidence that it is as sickeningly fun as you might have thought. It's fun, but it's also living on the edge. There's nothing quite like getting your strings tangled onstage, or smacking your head into a pipe of the venue's very low ceiling while trying to gather props for the next scene. There's nothing like watching people's eyes "freak out" at tiny wooden people meandering around on stage. There's nothing like flexing your marionette muscles, the lats you develop from weeks of rehearsing, holding and heaving puppets and props in your Fakers pinafore.

Welcome to the NEW Sunset Chronicles Blog!

So far, we've had meetings about the latest performance over Jen's insanely delicious chocolate brownies.
We've got some new Fakers in the mix, and we're also going to take a little tour to a western bar to look
at mechanical bulls... not to peak your interest or anything...
